i love nerds...maybe...

so yeah, last night after work i went out w/jayd and rachel and rachel's boyfriend to jt's. it was fun. i wore my "i <3 nerds" t-shirt and got a lot of comments about it. one cute bartender was like "does it count that i used to be a nerd in high school?" this other guy who was weird was like "i am wearing glasses, does that make me a nerd?" i should edit the shirt though and make it say this: "i <3 attractive, funny, nice, male nerds." some of the guys that were checking me out were super scary, that is always the case though, no matter what damn shirt i wear.

anyway...we also saw the guy from saturday that had started dancing w/ me and spilled his beer on me and hit me in the head with the bottle...haha... then, this dude that i used to work with at another job before the animal clinic, started talking to me. then he started getting all weird and hitting on me, so i spent the remainder of the night avoiding him b/c he was really freaking me out. then, as we were leaving, this random guy starts yelling "he's a nerd" and points to his friend...so we start talking, his name was john (i can't believe that i actually remembered that!) but nothing came of it, we said goodbye very soon after we started talking. so that's about it...

i now have a very sore throat and am sick so i am grouchy...but the events of last night really make me want to laugh!

so yesterday went good at work...it was Leslie's last day so it was sad...we will all miss her :(

after work i went to canada for my cousin Julia's birthday party...it was fun seeing all of my cousins and stuff. i ate too much food though and ended up feeling ill afterwards...

but that didn't stop me from going out with Jayd. no one else wanted to go out so just the 2 of us went. we decided to go downtown and hit the Chippewa strip. we went to Quote first...it was fun but kinda dead. it was so dead in fact that when we tried to leave, a very nice bouncer named Dante bought us drinks so that we would stay for a little while longer...haha...so we stayed a bit longer. Jayd and i get told all of the time that we are intimidating so guys never come up and talk to us...but last night some guys did come up. its funny though because Dante was equating the bar to a shark tank...some girls sit at a table and the circling begins...the guys walk around and some go in and the others stare them down and it goes on and on...i thought that was pretty funny b/c that's what was going on last night!

after we left Quote we went to Sub Zero...that place was kewl too, and more crowded and there were people dancing so we joined in. this asshole started dancing with me and he knocked me in the head with his beer bottle and then spilled it on me...i was so pissed. then Jayd started talking to DJ Anthony from Kiss 98.5 b/c she met him somewhere before and he bought us some drinks...it was kewl. then i saw this cute guy sitting on a couch and he looked lonely so i sat down and started talking to him. then after we were done talking he said it was nice to meet me and said my name and i said it was nice meeting him and didn't say his name (b/c i forgot it) and he was like "oh so i'm some random guy" haha...so he didn't ask for my number or anything so i was like "come visit me at work if you remember where i said that i work," and he actually remembered...haha and i was like "i know that you won't come so whatever." and that's how i left it...i have totally given up on men.

so in short, last night just reaffirmed that there are no quality guys around that i want to date, only weirdeos are attracted to me. last night also reaffirmed that i will never have another boyfriend again and i will never get married. its unfortunate and sad, but true.

on a brighter note, my cousin hub who recently bought a gold 1964 1/2 ford mustang convertable came to my house to show it to me and take me for a ride. IT IS AWESOME. I am even MORE OBSESSED with the classic 1960's mustang now! below is a picture that hub took of me in the car with his camera phone...

welcome to our ool...

haha i found this sign for sale while i was browsing the internet tonight: Welcome to Our Ool

so yeah last night i went to a benefit spaghetti dinner for virginia rose faguard...she is a 4 year old that has cancer :(...it was very nice...we didn't win anything at the chinese auction though
:(...but i did enter 3 tickets (they only sell 1000 tickets) in a drawing for a NEW 2005 FORD MUSTANG!!! the drawing is september 5th so i am keeping my fingers crossed...

today i went to the erie county fair w/ my parents...it was fun...i ate lots of bad stuff like fried dough, blooming onion and ice cream (w/ sprinkles of course)...and i found some scotty dog decals for my car...actually i had to have them custom made, but it was only $8 for 2 good size decals. the guy at the first decal booth that i looked at was hitting on me...lol...he was also 24 and was cute...too bad he lives in massachusetts and sells decals for a living haha...but at least he is within my age range...lately i've had a 48 year old and an 18 year old want to date me...and no one in between...oh well...i'll never see the decal guy again...

hmmmmmm...random stuff...

wanna hear something crazy? at work for the pay period of 7/31/05 to 8/13/05 i worked 103 hours...so i got like 23 hours of overtime! i can't believe that i worked that much...no wonder i'm always tired!

i also had a very good time house/pet sitting at jeanne's house. loki and clio are great dogs and winkie and deuce are very kewl cats. it was nice to get away for a while from my house and sleep in a comfortable bed! loki slept with me in bed every night...i miss sleeping w/ travis (my dog) since he won't sleep on my bed anymore...i think it's because he can't jump down off of it anymore...anyway that went well...i like housesitting...

i also got some letters of recommendation from Tara and Leslie...they are really wonderful letters...it's amazing to see what people think of you, and how elequent letters like this can be...i am very impressed...i am just waiting on letters from Jeanne & Julie and then i'll have all of them in...all i have to do after that is finish writing my essays and then i can send the applications in...eeekkk...but that will have to wait until after i take the GRE on 8/24...eeekkk...I had a panic attack when i tried to study for it last week, and i have been VERY afraid to open the book again...but I have to get on it...I am so going to bomb it...

i have an appointment w/ a new knee doctor on sept 1st so maybe he can figure out why i am in so much pain even though the last doctor that i saw said that he "thought" that the MRI was clear, told me to wear a patellar tendon strap (that doesn't work) and told me "good luck." needless to say i am never going to that place again...some doctors just suck.

so the whole thing with that matt guy totally did not work out...i am not surprised. you know, i feel so old in every other aspect of my life...except for my dating life. in my dating life i feel like i am 12 years old, it's pathetic. i really don't think i will have a truly mature adult relationship with a guy ever. i know some of my readers out there will comment about my last statement and say, "whatever, you will find someone when the time is right and when you least expect it"...but i really don't believe this will happen. at least if i get into vet school for next fall, i will be so busy i won't have time to be lonely or worry about guys...i'm really hoping that i get in and this is one of the many reasons why...and if i don't get in...well i have backup plans but they aren't as good as vet school...why are some things in life so damn complicated?...and why am i the way that i am?...

1000 Islands Weekend...

so this shirt is gross:
Liquor in the Front ...i found it while searching for napoleon dynamite t-shirts...and OH MY GOD...I am here watching the Golden Girls on Lifetime and I just saw the weirdest not so discreet commerical ever...it was creepy...it was for this product: The Vibe be sure and go to that website...it's quite funny...anyway...

i went tent camping at this past weekend with Tina, Josette, Heather ("H"), Tom (H's husband) and Zach (H's step-son) in the 1000 Islands...it was super-fun! We all stayed in tents in Wellesley Island State Park...Tina, Josette and I had one site and H, Tom & Zach had a site right near ours. Right when we got there it started raining...so I ripped off my t-shirt and put on my bikini top and jumped out of the truck to help set up our tent. I felt like I was on Survivor or something! We got the tent up in less than 5 minutes so it was all good...then later that night we checked out the park, located the bathroom that had 3 showers and some stalls which was very nice and clean and then we visited Woody's to buy wood...set up our fire and cooked up some baked beans and beef, chicken and vegetable kabobs on the fire. After dinner we went into one of the towns (don't ask me what its called!) and had ice cream and walked around...the town looked like something out of a movie set, it was very surreal and I liked it very much.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, before we were able to cook dinner though, we went out looking for an insert for the fire pit on our site since it was missing. Josette drove while Tina and I looked out for an insert. We finally spotted one at the bottom of a steep hill...we went running out of the truck, carried the insert all the way up the hill and threw it in the truck...we had to leave it open though b/c the insert was too big...Josette then drove away up a large hill and some other crap went flying out of the back of the truck so I had to hop out and bungee the rest of the crap down and that was that. So that night we hung out by the fire, drank beer, ate mountain pies, and s'mores (made w/ Ritz crackers since we all forgot the Graham crackers!). We spotted a hot guy setting up his camp near us and I was mesmorized by him since he was alone...and then a few hours later a girl showed up :( so that was that.

The next day (Saturday) we all woke up and had some coffee, eggs and sausage on the fire for breakfast. Then we went into Alexandria Bay (another town) to go on the Uncle Sam's 2 Nations Boat Tour of the kewl houses on the islands on the St. Lawrence Seaway...it was great...we got to see houses on the US and Canadian sides, and then we visited Heart Island that has Boldt Castle on it. George Boldt started off in live really poor and then he moved up in life and was one of the owners of the Waldorf-Astoria hotel in NYC and was all rich and shit...he decided to buy this island and blast its edges into the shape of a heart and build a castle to give to his wife on Valentines Day (her birthday), but in 1904 he got a telegram that his wife, Louise had died so all construction stopped and the site was abandoned until 1977 when the 1000 Islands Bridge Authority acquired it and started fixing it up and opened it to the public for tours. It was kewl in the castle though b/c since it was abandoned it is covered in grafitti and stuff that dates back to like the 1920's and stuff. All in all the whole boat tour thing was great!

Then we went back to the campsite and made some hotdogs, and then I started drinking beer and kept drinking....and since it was hotter than hell outside and H & Tom's campsite was right on the water, we went swimming. The water was so nice, there are zebra muscles in it that filter the water and make it 99.5% pure...you could drink right out of the damn St. Lawrence...that's why I had no issue swimming in it...that and I was quite drunk...I would not stop talking either...haha...so later that night we again hung out by the fire, drank and ate...but a raccoon climbed right up on the table at H's site while we were all out there...and then during the night Tina & Josette kept hearing the raccoons drinking water off of the tarp outside our tent (I heard nothing...I only woke up b/c Tina & Josette were freaking out about the raccoons loudly!)

On Sunday morning, we started packing stuff up b/c we had to be off of the site by 11am. We saw a raccoon hanging out and I took some pictures of him...he probably had rabies...at least we were all vaccinated...haha. We had some coffee & waffles for breakfast, got all of our shit together and went back into Alexandria Bay to go shopping, walk around and then eat. It was another very hot, very nice day. The only souvinier that I bought was a magnet that had the recipe for 1000 Island Salad Dressing on it (b/c it's where it was invented). Then we ate lunch and took off for home...we got home around 5:30-6pm. All in all, I was VERY impressed with this short vacation...I want to go back to the 1000 Islands VERY soon...and go tent camping. I think it would be a nice romantic weekend getaway...I know, I mean I know it sounds weird, like how can tent camping be romantic, but I think it would be...

Anyway, that's it for now...I'm getting all of my pictures back from being developed tomorrow evening, so I'll try and post pictures on here tomorrow night or Friday!
