trimania, beliefnet.org, florida and stuff...

so yeah...this post is just a mish-mash of a bunch of things since the post that i tried to write before i left for florida got erased! i was pissed. that post was about how i went to Trimania on Saturday March 19th with Tracie and her friend Christina and her friend Jessica. We had lots of fun...we saw lots of kewl artwork, heard reggae music, an African drum band, Jackdaw, and some oldies that I felt the urge to boogie down with...Tracie thought that was super kewl and funny! haha. All in all it was a great night! Tracie and I also went to Allen Street Hardware Bar afterwards and that was fun. we drank lots of white wine there...and then I drove home (I wasn't drunk by any means) It was 4:30am when I got home...and I had woken up for work on Saturday at 5:40am...so by the time I went to sleep I was like an hour shy of being up for 24 hours!

On Sunday morning I went to my cousin Kaylynn's house and she did my hair. I got some small layers cut and she highlighted my hair with a light blonde color, it looks super kewl...i love it and so does everyone else! When I got home I took this "What kind of Catholic are you?" survey on Beliefnet.org. It said that I am a "recovering Catholic"...haha. how true...

Then on Monday at Weight Watchers I ended up weighing in and it showed that I lost another 1.2 lbs...yea...Tuesday I ended up working 14.5 hours...eeekkk....it was because at the end of the night, a hit by car dg came in with a badly broken leg that had to be casted under anesthesia and a dog that we thought was bloated came in, so one of the doctors started the surgery and it turned out that the dog really had a linear foreign body that had caused intersusseption in the intestines. so needless to say this surgery took a long time...longer than expected. it turns out that the dog ate a rope toy and that was what had gotten stuck in the intestines...blah. so yeah that was Tuesday...Wednesday was the last day of school before break...yea.

Thursday I went to work from 7am to 12pm. i was in dog surgeryw/ tina so it was kewl. both of the dogs from Tuesday night are dong fine by the way...I found this out on Thursday when I came in. Tina and I really whipped through the surgery schedule...we had 4 neuters and 2 dentals, both with growth removals. mike, the surgeon, was super fast as he always is and so i was able to leave right at noon like i was scheduled to. I came home, showered, ate and then it was off to the airport.

I flew Southwest Airlines to West Palm Beach airport...I left Buffalo around 6:45pm and got into Florda around 10:45pm. not bad at all, considering that the flight stopped in Washnigton/Baltimore...a stop that was listed NOWHERE on my flight schedule...I was pissed, but at least I didn't have to get off of the plane there...it was only a 10 minute stop, but still...it was deceptive on the part of Southwest! On the way to Batimore I was sitting net to a nice guy and this girl...they were kewl and we all talked the whole time. When we touchd down in Baltimore, I moved seats so that I was closer to the front of the plane (Southwest does not assign seats, so you can pick to sit anywhere you want). This weird guy ended up siting next to me who talked to himself and ate a smelly salad. He also kept flickng his newspaper and took up both of the armrests with his elbows (he was in the middle seat...thank god i was on the isle)I was glad that there was this nice older lady from miami named ms. lou, a guy a few years older than me from baltimore and a guy my dad's age from buffalo in the seats across from me. we had a great time! it was like a seinfeld episode! haha. ms. lou is a party animal from south beach and she bought us all drinks and was singing and laughing the whole flight. she was telling stories about all of these successful and rich kids that she teaches in high school AP English classes...and how this one girl's driver was going to pick her up from the airport in West Palm...she really made my night!

so when we touched down in west palm, i was sad to see the flight end. this was the best plane flight of my whole life! my grandparents were at the airport to get me. when we got to the condo we all went right to bed. my uncle rob, aunt sharyl, cousins mary and joey and their yorkie dog, Rocky were also there too. they left on easter sunday.

On Friday we all hung out at the pool and then went for dinner at the Olive Garden. On Saturday we went to Pompano Beach for the whole day...it was GREAT! The water was nice and the sun was out and there were lots of people there. I collected seashells with Mary and swam with Joey, he is like a little fish! Then we had some drinks and fries at a beachside cafe and then went back to the condo where my grandma was making spaghetti, meatballs and sauce for dinner. it was good. then we played blackjack with my grandparents and ate cocout cream pie...yum.

On Easter Sunday the whole gang left. My grandparents and I went out to dinner at Charlie Crab's with my grandmother's brother, Uncle Frank, his wife, Aunt Dorie and her sister Carol. I got the Red Snapper and i was wonderful. I was so full after that meal that there was no room for dessert! Then we went to Blockbuster and rented "Eulogy" with Ray Romano in it. It was funny! My favorite quote from that movie is "I don't put people in boxes, I just label them." The reason why we rented this flck was because there was really nothing else available b/c of the no late fee ting at Blockbuster! eeerrr...but anyway it ended up being a good, funny, but very weird movie!

Today I went on a 5 mile speed walk with my grandma at 9am...i felt kind sick afterwards but i made it...she thought that i couldn't keep up with her, but I did! Then I went to the pool, bt it was cold so I came back upstairs. Then my grandma and I went to the mall and i got a cute outfit for like $35...its cute, and i got hit on by a cute checkout guy at Sears...haha...then we ate dinner at the Stirfry Cafe...it was great, I got Pad Thai with Shrimp and some Seasamie Breaded Calimari...yum. Then we came back to the condo, watched some TV and my grandpa rented Ladder 49 and Flight of the Phoenix, so we have to decide what we are going to watch tonight...so thats all for now...tomorrow i think that we are off to the flea market, which is SUPER kewl! :) I promise to post pictures as soon as I get home and get them developed...I brought my 35mm camera on this trip...no digital...my digital camera is from when they first came out...i need a new one...oh well...ciao for now!

this is kewl...

try this...it works...

How Smart is Your Right Foot?

This is so funny that it will boggle your mind. And you will keep
trying at least 50 more times to see if you can outsmart your foot,
but you can't.

1. While sitting at your desk, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles.

2. Now, while doing this, draw the number "6" in the air with your right hand. Your foot will
change direction.

......And there's nothing you can do about it!

Cute puppies...

So anyway the puppies in the picture below belong to Jeanne, one of the veterinarians that I work with...the 2 pups get along really well...the picture was taken yesterday while I was at work, I look like crap but they are cute and that's all that matters...

Loki is a little bit older than Clio...and he is my second favorite dog on the planet (he takes second place b/c my dog, Travis, holds first place)...he is very loveable and cute...the picture doesn't get you to see all of his cuteness. He is also a showdog now which is very kewl.

Clio is the younger puppy...she is so cute...I like how she looks like a miniture bull terrier adult dog (think the dog from Target... or Spuds MacKenzie if you recall the 80's)...she likes to nibble on fingers and cuddle. When she gets older she might be a showdog too, but I don't know...I guess her father was a grand champion or something which is super kewl.

this is a picture of me at work with Clio (the bull terrier puppy on the left) and Loki (the border terrier puppy on the right).

Happy Birthday Travis!!!

My scottie dog Travis hit the big 1-4 today!!! Happy birthday Travis...aka "Wiggy." Tomorrow I might try to make him a doggie b-day cake since I didn't have time to today...we will see what happens! Here is the recipe:

K-9 Birthday Cake Ingredients:
1 cup white or whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup cooking oil
1 cup shredded carrots
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup honey (optional)
1 egg
Mix the dry ingredients. Add the remaining ingredients and mix quickly. Bake in a greased ring mold at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. You may frost this cake with low fat cottage cheese and decorate with some carrot pieces. Store in the refrigerator. (Dogs will eat this without the honey added)
